Brussels clubs that welcome beginners 4
About this page
A first visit to a chess club is easier where the club says outright that newcomers are expected. The Belgian Chess Club in Anderlecht teaches on Wednesday afternoons for every level and age and keeps a Friday hour of lessons for beginners before the evening's games. Excelsior in Ganshoren runs a club school on Wednesday evenings with an earlier slot for beginners and a later one for stronger players.
Europchess, which meets in a European Commission building, says it welcomes players of every level who are linked to the European institutions. In Halle, De Zwarte Dame, a circle for visually impaired players and their friends, starts its Saturday afternoons with an hour of lessons before free play. Fees, where a page gives them, are on each card; the other clubs on this site may well take beginners too, but their pages do not say so.
